The Clipboard Utility

You can perform the normal copy, paste etc. by selecting text, then right clicking and then select copy or cut, or by using the edit menu selections.  We often need the ability to copy (or cut) several text items (strings, numbers etc.) and store them in a clipboard.  The Windows clipboard lets you store one thing at a time, but Numera's Clipboard lets you store up to 8 clips.

For example, you could copy "pi" from the constants utility and other numbers into Numera's Clipboard.  Or, you could store long variable names for easy pasting.

Here's how to do it.

Select Numera's Clipboard from the Utilities menu, or click its icon on the toolbar.

You will see something similar to the picture below.  If there's already something in the clipboard you can pass the mouse cursor over the button to read what's being stored there.

In the following example we selected .621371, right clicked in the text box, selected Copy and it was inserted into Numera's clipboard.  We then placed the arrow-cursor over the 2nd button and you can read its contents, in this case it's .621371.
